In this engaging presentation, Lisa Charlson will share basic brain science and practical ways to apply Trauma Informed Care principles to HR and leadership practices. She will also offer strategies to integrate well-being practices into daily routines, helping participants build resilience and enhance workplace dynamics.
Lisa Charlson brings extensive experience in Human Resources, having spent years in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Employment Law before transitioning into Organizational Development. For five years, she focused on leadership development, employee engagement, and retention, fostering a deep commitment to supporting individuals and organizations alike.
During this time, Lisa established a partnership with the Center for Trauma Informed Innovation (CTII), part of the Behavioral Health division of University Health (formerly Truman Medical Center). This collaboration enabled her to integrate Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles into leadership practices, sparking a passion for promoting resilience and supportive workplace cultures.
Now a Behavioral Health Consultant with CTII, Lisa helps organizations implement a culture of trauma informed care. She recognizes both the potential for Human Resources to lead this transformation and the toll of burnout on HR professionals themselves. Lisa advocates for fostering organizational awareness of TIC benefits and prioritizing well-being to support HR professionals as they navigate the complexities of their roles.
