The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Best Practices & Implications for HR Professionals panel discussion is designed to equip HR professionals with essential knowledge and skills regarding ADA compliance. Participants will gain a deep understanding of ADA regulations, including reasonable accommodations, discrimination prevention, and accessibility standards. The program will highlight best practices for fostering inclusive workplaces, ensuring equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and mitigating legal risks associated with ADA non-compliance. By attending this program, HR professionals will emerge better equipped to navigate ADA requirements, implement effective policies, and champion diversity and inclusion initiatives within their organizations.

PANELISTS

Shae White has been involved in the neurodiverse field for about 5 years, assisting individuals to lead full and productive lives in the workplace and at home. She has brainstormed and collaborated with many other professionals regarding innovative and creative solutions to help an individual complete a job or task effectively and efficiently. She is currently the Director of Training and Employee Development at CDD (Center for Developmentally Disabled).

Monique Todd, SHRM-SCP was the HR Director for The Whole Person for over ten years, where 67% of the workforce were persons with disabilities.  She has first-hand experience with accommodations and ADA compliance and knows the value of being proactive in working with employees to maximize their abilities in the workplace.  Monique is currently the Head of People Operations at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City and serves on the Board of Directors for SHRM-KC.

Joe Leiter has worked in Vocational Rehabilitation both as an Employment Specialist and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor which has allowed him to gain a better understanding of workplace accommodations and ADA regulations for clients/employees he has supported. Additionally, Joe has several years of Human Resources experience hiring adults with disabilities and supporting small businesses with state and federal regulations such as ADA compliance, and workplace accommodations. Currently, Joe works as an Employment Specialist for Community Services League.
